QWAK,DUCK got a new TOY! :)
QWAK,Just fired up my new DR.Power mower! WOW!!:hahaha::yes: Now that is what I call a LAWN MOWER! Took down TREES over 10 'tall and over 2" in diamiter just like they said and I have not put on the HEAVY DUTY BLADE YET!
I also got the CHIPER and 6.5 kw generator, figured go whole HOG! Also better put the $$$ in to IT rather than have it in a BANK!:thinkey::yes: I need to clean up around the DUCK NEST just in case of fire and it will be nice having back up power.:s1: Also going to experiment burning the dried chips from the chipper to add to fuel to heat the DUCK POND got to have a warm DUCK POND!:yes::s1: the DUCK |
Re: QWAK,DUCK got a new TOY! :)
How are you going to dry the wood chips, Duck? They need a good bit of drying before they'll burn reliably - you have a few options available, some more expensive than others!

Re: QWAK,DUCK got a new TOY! :)
QWAK,jamesfrancisco,I am thinking drying them about the same way farmers dry HAY -- in the summer sun!:shine::111: Once dried under a black tarp for continued drying .
Eventualy I would like to get an OUT SIDE BURNER/BOILER and that could be worm screw fead from a big hopper. with all the small trees it would be an unlimited energy supply. :shine: With a small steam engen could even run generator. It is worth experimenting with, hell I burn JUNK MAIL to help heat my hot tub -- its all BTUs!:s1: and them cost $$$ to buy in other forms!:thinkey:I particularly INJOY burning the LOW INTRIST offers from BANKS -- they burn real good!:111::4_1_72: the DUCK |

I want to be able to go OFF grid IF I need to.:thinkey: Got a hunch I may NEED to. www.DRpower.com Check them out. They got some goods stuff -- not CHEEP but well built and so far I am IMPRESSED! When that 15 HP. mower climbs a 3" diamiter TREE 12' tall and turns it in to a STUB it is IMPRESSIVE!:hahaha::grin: The SUCKER is AWSOME and like a MONSTER TUCK compared to normal LAWN MOWERS! the DUCK |
Re: QWAK,DUCK got a new TOY! :)
Nice unit! Did you get any extra oil, fuel and/or air filters for it? Most small equipment will call for a oil change every 100 hours. Maybe even an extra drive belt. May even want to install an hour meter on it if it does not have one standard. Just some things to think about. Congrats!

QWAK,Fatboy,GREAT minds think alike!:thinkey: Got them ALL with the maintainence kit,and got an Maintance HR. meter too!:s1:
Found out over the years that trying to do stuff on the cheep with old worn out stuff and no back up always ends up way more trouble! Do IT right or just don't do IT, is BEST way to do every thing!:thinkey::grin: the DUCK |
Re: QWAK,DUCK got a new TOY! :)
That is a great mower! It made it on my list. I think we get a bit more time with this election result.... not to be nice to us but to loot more for them. Those who want to hope a politician can make it ok are happy.

Re: QWAK,DUCK got a new TOY! :)
QWAK,AMforPM,There IS a TIME for EVERY THING and the REAL question IS -- WHAT time is IT realy? HUMmmmmmmmm??:questionm:questionm:questionm
IF one looks at history and constently repeating cicles then ECONOMIC WINTER is HERE:yes: and even if it feels WARM right now, cold winds and rain are coming so one must maintain PERSPECTIVE,if NOT then they risk being unprepared and out in the COLD! Free will and FREE CHOICE are ALL that are realy FREE every thing else COSTS in the form of WORK and EFFORT:yes: --all else is just an ILUSION!:thinkey: Ponder on THAT.:shine: the DUCK |

Hopefully by Friday/Saturday I should be able to PM you some details about how to burn them without any drying, in a furnace you can build yourself (assuming you can weld), and also produce electricity with no need for a steam engine. You can shred branches, grass cuttings, manure, everything and burn it "wet". But you are certainly on the right track... |
